According to a report published by the VGA4A, A former Twitch employee posted an accusation on X (formerly Twitter) alleging that Dr Disrespect was banned for sexting a minor on Twitch. The accusation was widely assumed to be directed at the streamer, though he was not named directly. The Verge later corroborated these claims and named Dr Disrespect.
YouTube confirmed in a statement to Kotaku that they have suspended monetization on Dr Disrespect’s channel, citing a violation of their Creator Responsibility policy. This suspension applies to all channels owned by Dr Disrespect, including any new ones he creates.
Following the accusations, Midnight Society, the studio co-founded by Dr Disrespect, cut ties with him. Turtle Beach, a gaming accessory company that had a multi-year partnership with Dr Disrespect, also ended their agreement.
In a statement, Dr Disrespect admitted to sending private messages to a minor on Twitch and acknowledged that they were sometimes “inappropriate.” However, he claimed there were no “real intentions” behind these messages.
